Disturbed is a typical thriller movie with a plot that revolves around revenge and murder, it is about a psychotic killer who seeks revenge for his incarceration. Directed by Brian McLaughlin and Randy Albridge, who apart from being the co-director is also the one playing the part of the mentally disturbed killer who escapes from prison and swears revenge upon the Fontaine family.
Having escaped the state prison, Charles Mason heads straight to the Fontaine home where the three children are alone, as their parents are out of town. Ashley (Melissa Deverian) the eldest of the three is left with looking after her siblings and at the same time balancing a job as a real estate agent. When she hears of Mason’s escape, she fears for her family, as she is aware that they would be his target.

She warns her siblings, who care less what she says and throw a party inviting all their friends. What follows is but obvious. Mason is let large attacking and killing the kids and amongst all this we also get to see a rape scene, which is a bit unexpected. You feel sympathetic towards Ashley. Though ‘Disturbed’ lacks an original script, it is on the whole entertaining and the acting is passable.
Considering it is a low budget film, ‘Disturbed’ does fair justice to the plot. The actors could do with a little more polishing up, but it is not bad all the same. So if you do not mind watching a cheap thriller, Disturbed can be an entertaining film for you.
