Watch The Kid & I Movie Online

The Kid & I is one of the few films in which the name of the writer overshadows that of the director. Tom Arnold, who is credited with the screenplay, is a well known comedy actor, while Penelope Spheeris is not widely known as a director. Arnold also acts in the film, as do Joe Mantegna and Linda Hamilton. Admittedly, Hamilton is better known for her work in the Terminator films than for generating laughs in comedies, so people interested in seeing her performance in another genre might want to pick this film up.

This film is surprisingly bizarre for a comedy, and the story behind its production might go a long way towards explaining exactly why. It starts with a young man named Eric Gores, the son of a billionaire and an aspiring actor. However, Gores has cerebral palsy, which certainly limits his options in his chosen area. However, his father hired Tom Arnold to write a script for a movie in which Gores would star. The result is The Kid & I, which also stars Gores.

The weirdness really kicks in once we start comparing the plot to the movie’s back-story. Tom Arnold wrote a script about a has-been actor who plans to end his life, until a wealthy man (Joe Mantegna), hires him to write a script for his cerebral palsy-afflicted son (Gores, of course). We might, then, see this film as borrowing the structure from Adaptation or 8 ½.

Tom Arnold is a skillful comedian, but he does not always get involved in good projects, or films that tap his full potential. Unfortunately, The Kid & I seems to be one of the lesser projects on his résumé—which is especially disappointing, since one would expect Arnold to write a script that would show off his gifts, and hopefully those of his co-stars. This might be due to the direction—or rather non-direction—of Penelope Spheeris. A more skillful director might have made more of the structural craziness of the script, or pushed things in a zanier, more intellectual direction. However, the film rarely hangs together, and often seems to be an excuse for several cameos, including one by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Kid & I

Surprisingly, one of the actors in the film who does well is Gores himself. Of course, this is not the place to speculate on the extent to which he may have simply been playing himself. In any case, he is able to straddle the line between likability and brattiness. He is a generally decent young man, and one feels sympathy for his weakness, but he can also be a tyrannical brat.

As for Tom Arnold, he is—well, Tom Arnold. If you have already enjoyed his works in other films, you are likely to be entertained by him here. Otherwise, his work in The Kid & I is unlikely to win you over.

In the end, The Kid & I is more accurately described as an interesting film, rather than one which is great, or even very good. See it if you are in the mood for something off the beaten track—or are planning to write a journal article on meta-fictional approaches to film.

Watch Disturbed Movie Online

Disturbed is a typical thriller movie with a plot that revolves around revenge and murder, it is about a psychotic killer who seeks revenge for his incarceration. Directed by Brian McLaughlin and Randy Albridge, who apart from being the co-director is also the one playing the part of the mentally disturbed killer who escapes from prison and swears revenge upon the Fontaine family.

Having escaped the state prison, Charles Mason heads straight to the Fontaine home where the three children are alone, as their parents are out of town. Ashley (Melissa Deverian) the eldest of the three is left with looking after her siblings and at the same time balancing a job as a real estate agent. When she hears of Mason’s escape, she fears for her family, as she is aware that they would be his target.

Disturbed

She warns her siblings, who care less what she says and throw a party inviting all their friends. What follows is but obvious. Mason is let large attacking and killing the kids and amongst all this we also get to see a rape scene, which is a bit unexpected. You feel sympathetic towards Ashley. Though ‘Disturbed’ lacks an original script, it is on the whole entertaining and the acting is passable.

Considering it is a low budget film, ‘Disturbed’ does fair justice to the plot. The actors could do with a little more polishing up, but it is not bad all the same. So if you do not mind watching a cheap thriller, Disturbed can be an entertaining film for you.

Watch Stupid Teenagers Must Die Movie Online

A horror flick on the 80’s slasher movies, “Stupid Teenagers Must Die” tries to bring alive the tongue-in-cheek horror films of the eighties we watched to see those hair-raising Goosebumps come up. The film is complete with typical stereotyped characters of the horror films of yore, who have tried in their own way to play their parts fairly enough.

Although, you cannot expect to see a film with great special effects, mostly used in big-budget movies that give you the creeps, the posters themselves make it clear that it is a low-budget, in fact zero budget film. That expected, you can set aside the effects and enjoy the movie as it is meant to be. It is a simple tribute by the director Jeff C Smith to the genre.

Stupid Teenagers Must Die Movie Scene

Set in the 80’s, a group of silly teenagers have a Halloween’s party at a haunted house and funny as they think it is, they hold a séance and unexpectedly release a serial killer who had murdered his family in this very house. Through the gory night, bodies fall one after the other in very mysterious ways and the teenagers fall victim one by one to their pray.

Stupid Teenagers Must Die

Blood is splattered all over, zombies are seen dragging along, girls suddenly turn nude, there are screams and scares and amongst all this, the hero tries to get the remaining members of the group out of the house before each one falls dead. The film is not all horror, as there is a humorous touch to it and best is the comic one-liners that make the film entertaining.

Jeff C Smith has made an attempt to revive the classic horror films of the 80’s, but that he has done an exceptional job of it is not the right way to put it. However with its low budget, the movie is credible and since the duration of the film is 120 minutes, it is not as painful to watch, as you get past the script quite quickly.

Watch Perdita Durango Online

Adapted from Barry Gifford’s novel “59 Degrees and Raining: The Story of Perdita Durango”, the film Perdita Durango is somewhat a take off from David Lynch’s ‘Wild at Heart’ though it is not a sequel to the film, which was also based on a novel by Gifford. In the former film, towards the end, we are introduced to a character ‘Perdita Durango’ and it is this character that director Alex de la Iglesias chooses to portray in his film.

Perdita_Durango_Movie_Scene-1

Perdita Durango, played by Rosie Perez, is a ruthless maniac who does not live by the rules; instead she makes rules of her own. She is strong, uncaring, violent and enjoys life in her own daring way. Much worse is her lover, Romeo Dolorosa (Javier Bardem) who is a demonic character, a staunch follower of the ancient Santeria religion that believes in human sacrifice in exchange for good luck and prosperity. He is a murderer, robber, a cannibal, a walking evil.

Romeo’s character almost overshadows that of Perdita Durango and she knows she has met her match, but she is truly smitten by this man. Other characters include a mob leader Santos, who assigns the two the job of driving a tanker loaded with human fetuses across the border from Mexico to Texas. Romeo and Perdita have to safely drive this consignment to be delivered to a cosmetic industry that needs the fetuses for their facial creams.

As is his religion, Romeo wants to carry out a human sacrifice before setting out on this mission. We have already seen him dissecting human corpses and eating their vital organs in front of a watching audience, but this time it is live human sacrifice that is decided upon. The two kidnap teenage sweethearts Duane and Estelle for the sacrifice, but before that the college students are raped by their kidnappers, which they later begin to enjoy.

The kids are rescued just before the sacrifice, as Romeo and Perdita have been followed closely by a DEA agent along with cops and a former betrayed accomplice of Romeo. There is a lot of action with shootouts and violence and point-blank murders and of course a lot of stimulating sex scenes. The movie has been shot at excellent locales and has a good background score. Gruesome though it is, the film is well-directed and the actors fit into their characters brilliantly.
